"The force fired dozens of Katyusha rockets... in response to an Israeli attack on the southern village of Shama that killed several civilians," Hezbollah said in a statement, according to AFP . The attack killed four Syrians and injured five Lebanese citizens.

This is Hezbollah's first attack after Israel killed a senior commander of this force on the night of July 30.

Shortly afterwards, the Israeli military said its air force "attacked the group's launch pad, from which the missiles were launched."

On the same day, Yemen's Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi announced that his forces would have a "military response" to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Iran and the "resistance axis" movements accused Israel of causing the incident.

Earlier in the day, local sources revealed that Iran and Tehran-backed armed groups were preparing for coordinated action to deter Israel but avoid full-scale conflict following the assassinations of senior Hamas and Hezbollah figures.

Specifically, the parties discussed two scenarios: simultaneous reactions by Iran and its allies or batched reactions by each side.

In the face of escalating Middle East conflicts, the White House announced that in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on August 1, US President Joe Biden emphasized Washington's commitment to protecting the security of this ally "against all threats from Iran", including Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthi groups.

According to AFP, Mr. Biden emphasized ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region and discussed efforts to support Israel's defense against threats, including against ballistic missiles and drones as well as new US defensive military deployments.

Meanwhile, on the Israeli side, the country's military spoke for the first time about the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in the early morning of July 31 in the Iranian capital Tehran.

According to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari, on the night of July 30, the country carried out only one airstrike across the Middle East region to destroy Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr on the outskirts of the Lebanese capital Beirut.

"There were no other Israeli air attacks, whether by missiles or drones, that night across the Middle East. I will say nothing more," Mr. Hagari clarified.

In addition, the spokesman emphasized that, backed by allies and with a "very good defense system", Israel is ready for any potential retaliation.
