"I am here (at the Copa America 2024 draw) because I am still the coach of the Argentina national team, but I am still thinking about my decision. I also spoke with Mr. Chiqui Tapia (President of the Argentine Football Association) in a good way as always. My relationship with Mr. Tapia has always been perfect. It is all about me and the coaching staff, we have to think about the best for the national team. The players are playing very well and they need a coach with enough desire and energy at their level," coach Scaloni shared.

According to journalist Gaston Edul of TyC Sports channel: "Mr. Tapia and coach Scaloni had a conversation about leading the Argentina team in the near future, including at Copa America 2024 and World Cup 2026. But both agreed to have another meeting, before any official decisions were made. In fact, everything was arranged so that coach Scaloni would continue to lead the Argentina team."

Commenting on the Copa America 2024 draw, coach Scaloni said: "Copa America is the beginning of a beautiful era for the current Argentina team. You could say everything started from there (the Copa America 2021 championship). This trophy is very beautiful, very special. We enjoyed that unique moment because of everything we went through.
