On the evening of February 29, the organizing committee of the Miss Mekong Delta 2024 contest announced on the contest's official fanpage that Nguyen Thi Le Nam Em (beauty queen Nam Em) will not be participating in the contest.
The reason is that the contest organizers found that Nam Em was not suitable for the criteria and image that the contest wanted to aim for.
Tuoi Tre Online contacted the organizing committee of the Miss Mekong Delta 2024 contest , and the organizing committee representative confirmed that the above information is correct.
This person said that in 2023, Nam Em participated in the contest's launch activities, so the audience knew Nam Em as the image ambassador of the Miss Mekong Delta 2024 contest.
The announcement that Nam Em will not be participating in the contest was only posted by the organizers on the fanpage. The organizers have not announced it through other means because they cannot contact Nam Em.
Tuoi Tre Online contacted Mr. Bui Huu Cuong - Nam Em's manager, he said that Nam Em and the contest organizer have not signed any contract or transferred any deposit.
"The organizing committee of Miss Mekong Delta 2024 arbitrarily announced, affecting Nam Em's reputation and prestige. The organizing company announced the termination, I don't know what to terminate" - Mr. Bui Huu Cuong affirmed.
Mr. Cuong added that he had announced on livestream that he would request the organizers of the Miss Mekong Delta 2024 contest to issue a written apology within the next few days, or else he would file a lawsuit.
