Completion of TKV's longest coal conveyor line

Việt NamViệt Nam14/08/2024

The investment project to build a conveyor system to transport coal from the Trang Bach mine industrial yard (Uong Bi Coal Company) to the +56 Mao Khe site was implemented from July 2023, with TKV Environment One Member Co., Ltd. as the investor. Up to now, after more than 1 year of construction, the project has been completed earlier than planned and is conducting testing and equipment calibration.

The project has 8 conveyor lines designed, total length 6km, total investment is 450 billion VND, transport capacity is 1.7 million tons of coal/year. According to the process, the line will transport finished coal at the industrial yard +24 Trang Bach mine (Uong Bi Coal Company) to the bunkers receiving coal for Mao Khe Thermal Power Plant and transport to Ben Can port.   This is also the longest coal conveyor line ever constructed and installed directly by TKV Environment Company Limited.

The system receives feed from the industrial yard +24 Trang Bach mine (Uong Bi Coal Company).

According to Mr. Vu Duc Minh, Head of Mechanical and Electrical Transportation Department of TKV Environment Company Limited, the project is divided into 6 bidding packages.   In which, package 14 is the most important, carrying out the construction and installation of conveyor systems and auxiliary works. This package is carried out by the Company itself, worth 153.5 billion VND.   Compared to the previous conveyor lines invested by the Company, among the 8 conveyor lines of this line, the fourth one is 2.6km long - a record length so far. It is worth mentioning that this conveyor line is constructed in very complex mountainous terrain conditions. In addition, the volume of main steel structure construction items (columns, beam frames, trusses, operating floors, conveying shafts...) and equipment system of the entire conveyor line is also relatively large.

Many conveyor lines of the Project are constructed in complex terrain conditions.

"During the construction process, the unit encountered many difficulties due to complex terrain and many sections.   winding, tortuous   However, with the direction of the Group's leaders and the efforts of workers and staff of the Environmental Company, up to now, the project has basically completed the entire workload and is conducting a load-interlocking test run and moving towards a 72-hour acceptance run" - Mr. An Van Tuong, Manager of the Mechanical - Installation - Construction Workshop, TKV Environmental Company Limited added.

The test run process with increasing speed and load levels is the basis for the testing unit to detect and calibrate parameters and control modes for the main conveyor system and auxiliary systems.

The record-breaking coal conveyor line of TKV, invested by TKV Environment One Member Co., Ltd., has been completed.

The project is invested in accordance with the Vietnam Coal Industry Development Plan to 2020 with a vision to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 403 dated March 14, 2016, to ensure national energy security for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Therefore, this is an important project not only for the Coal industry but also for Quang Ninh province.

Transporting coal by closed conveyor belt instead of car will reduce dust emission, ensuring the environment.

After completion and operation, the project will improve coal transportation capacity, strengthen resource management, reduce transportation costs, and contribute to stabilizing production and business of the coal industry. The conveyor belt will also   Completely replace the transportation of commercial coal by car, thereby significantly reducing dust and noise,   environmental protection in Dong Trieu - Uong Bi area.   Therefore, this will also be one of the important projects contributing to realizing the sustainable development goal of TKV in general and Quang Ninh province in particular, which is production always goes hand in hand with environmental protection.
