Nhat Minh won with an overwhelming score over the other three contestants, becoming the first student in Gia Lai to enter the Olympia finals.
The second quarter competition, the 24th year of the Road to Olympia program, aired on the afternoon of April 7, with the competition of four contestants: Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh (Hung Vuong High School, Gia Lai), Nguyen Minh Dinh Thien (Dong Ha High School, Quang Tri), Le Pham Minh Toan (Le Thanh Tong Primary - Secondary - High School, Ho Chi Minh City) and Le Thanh Phuong (Le Quy Don High School, Da Nang ).
Throughout the competition, Nhat Minh played calmly and was always the leader. In the Individual Warm-up round, the male student answered 2/6 questions correctly, earning 20 points. In the General Warm-up round of all contestants with 12 questions, the male student earned an additional 40 points.
After this round, Nhat Minh led with 60 points, followed by Thanh Phuong with 25 points, Dinh Thien 20 and Minh Toan 10 points.

In the Obstacle Course competition, the task of the four climbers was to find the hidden number with 7 letters. Nhat Minh was the first to choose the horizontal row number 2, consisting of 7 letters. After giving the correct answer which was the character "Van Minh" in the novel So Do by author Vu Trong Phung, the male student pressed the bell to answer the hidden number, without waiting for the image to be revealed. However, Minh's answer was incorrect.
Minh Toan then pressed the answer button, giving the correct answer: Dai Viet. From the contestant with the lowest score in the mountain climbing team, Minh Toan jumped to 70 points, leading with Nhat Minh.
The Speed Up round saw Nhat Minh and Thanh Phuong chase each other for points. Nhat Minh impressed everyone by always having the fastest answers.
In the first picture question about a famous general of the Tran Dynasty, Nhat Minh and Thanh Phuong both answered Pham Ngu Lao. However, the Gia Lai male student pressed the bell faster, so he got 40 points, while Thanh Phuong got 30 points. The other two candidates did not score any points.
Question number 2 required arranging the symbols, according to the sustainable development goals of the United Nations in Vietnam, all four climbers had the correct answer. This time, Nhat Minh also answered the fastest, getting 40 points.
After failing to find the length of the trapezoid's side in question 3, Nhat Minh answered correctly and earned another 40 points in the last question with the answer being General Nguyen Chi Thanh. Thanh Phuong also got the correct answer, but was again slower, earning only 30 points.

Continuously having the highest score in all three rounds, but entering the Finish line, Nhat Minh was cautious when choosing three 20-point questions, not using the star of hope. The male student then won the full 60 points.
Having 105 points, Thanh Phuong decided to use the 30-30-30 question package and the star of hope but was unsuccessful.
In the end, Nhat Minh won overwhelmingly with 250 points, becoming the first student from Gia Lai to enter the Olympia finals. Second place went to Minh Toan with 140 points. Thanh Phuong and Dinh Thien scored 80 and 60 points respectively, tying for third place.
Before Nhat Minh, Tran Trung Kien, a student from Tay Hoa district, also won a clear victory in the first quarter competition, bringing the first ticket to the final match of the Road to Olympia 2024 to Phu Yen province.
