More than 1,000 billion VND to renovate and embellish relics in Ho Chi Minh City

In the first 6 months of the year, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City effectively implemented industry development projects, synchronized the fields of culture, cultural environment, physical education and sports, and promoted management work in the fields under its management.

More than 2.6 million visitors visited the museum

In the field of culture and arts , the department organized 812 performances of propaganda programs, mobile film screenings, art performances, and mobile propaganda plays.

The campaign to compose, stage and promote literary and artistic works towards the April 30th celebration with the theme Ho Chi Minh City - 50 years of proud heroic epic , attracted the participation of many artists, authors and groups of authors.

The organizing committee selected 83 works for awards in the fields of literature, fine arts, theater, cinema, photography, music ...

Regarding cultural heritage management , in the first 6 months of 2025, museums under the Department collected 1,511 artifacts, images and documents. The museums organized 30 thematic exhibitions at the museum and 66 traveling exhibitions.

The total number of visitors to museums under the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, museums and relics in Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau was more than 2.6 million.

In the first 6 months of the year, 11 relics completed restoration with a cost of about 220 billion VND, of which the state budget capital was 203 billion VND and socialized capital was about 16.6 billion VND.

There are currently 10 renovation and restoration projects underway with a budget of approximately VND922.8 billion. The Department coordinates and guides the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Relic Site to complete the dossier to include the Cu Chi Tunnels in the list of world heritage sites.

Regarding intangible cultural heritage , it is noteworthy that the Chinese Lion Dance art in Ho Chi Minh City is included in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Continue to call for investment projects

In the field of electronic information , the Department reviewed, inspected and rectified 4 electronic information pages; inspected and discovered 19 articles of 6 social network accounts and coordinated with the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information to handle social network accounts posting inappropriate content that negatively affected public opinion;

Block 8 international domain names with signs of impersonation, temporarily suspend 5 domain names of organizations and individuals with signs of violating the law.

Regarding publishing , the department continues to monitor the implementation of laws in the fields of publishing, printing and distribution in the area, and advises on the successful organization of the 2025 Tet Book Street Festival with 175 programs, events and activities, attracting more than 1 million visitors.

Regarding press work , direct press agencies to strengthen propaganda of foreign information work; promote and introduce the image, potential and strengths of the city to serve trade promotion, investment attraction, diplomatic relations and international cooperation.

In the first 6 months of the year, Ho Chi Minh City invested in and called for investment in 102 projects; prepared public investment in 14 new projects, and called for investment in 21 PPP projects.

In Binh Duong, 13 projects are being implemented, of which 7 are preparing for investment, 2 are under construction, and 4 are in final settlement. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, 1 project is being implemented and 4 are preparing for investment...

In the field of sports, Ho Chi Minh City organized 44 city tournaments, 17 national and international tournaments and participated in 169 national and international tournaments.

Results at national competitions reached 913 gold medals, 645 silver medals and 755 bronze medals.

At international competitions won 43 gold medals, 47 silver medals, 22 bronze medals.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau teams participated in 26/117 tournaments, winning 176 medals (46 gold medals, 46 silver medals, 84 bronze medals).

Binh Duong has 58 teams participating in national and international sports competitions, winning 207 medals (67 gold medals, 58 silver medals, 82 bronze medals).
