More than 455,000 hectares of forest have been certified.

Data released by the Forestry Department on November 30 shows that in terms of concentrated afforestation, in the past 11 months, the whole country has planted about 220,700 hectares, reaching 90% of the yearly plan; it is estimated that 245,000 hectares will be planted this year, reaching 100% of the yearly plan. Scattered trees are planted about 92 million trees, reaching 64.3% of the plan; it is estimated that 127 million trees will be planted this year, reaching 91% of the yearly plan.

Regarding concentrated afforestation, in the past 11 months, the whole country has planted about 220,700 hectares; it is estimated that the whole year will plant 245,000 hectares.

In addition, the exploitation of concentrated planted forests nationwide in 11 months was about 18.23 million ^m3 , reaching 83% of the yearly plan, equal to 102.9% compared to the same period in 2022; it is estimated that the whole year will exploit 20.5/22 million ^m3 , reaching 93% of the plan.

Notably, the total forest area certified in 11 months is about 50,043 hectares. Accumulated to the present time, the total forest area certified is 455,205 hectares (reaching 91.04% compared to the target for the period 2021 - 2025).

According to forestry experts, forest certification is considered the "key" to allow Vietnamese forest products to access highly responsible markets in the world . The certification system will help increase the value of forest products and increase income for forest owners and supply chains.

Regarding the export and import of forest products, a representative of the Forestry Department said that the export value of wood and forest products in November is estimated at 1.236 billion USD; the cumulative value for 11 months is estimated at 12.97 billion USD, down 17.3% over the same period in 2022, reaching 76.2% of the plan.

On the other hand, the import value in November is estimated at 213 million USD, down 4% over the same period in 2022; the cumulative value for 11 months is estimated at 1.997 billion USD, down 29.2% over the same period in 2022. Thus, over the past 11 months, the whole industry had a trade surplus of about 10.98 billion USD.
