More than a dozen students received scholarships worth hundreds of millions of dong thanks to international and national awards.

Statistics from a university show that more than 10 new students who won first prizes in international and national competitions were awarded full scholarships worth hundreds of millions of dong.

Information from the University of Natural Sciences, Ho Chi Minh City, said that the new school year welcomed more than 4,500 new students from 34 provinces and cities across the country. Among them, many excellent students with outstanding achievements such as: winning high prizes in international Olympic competitions, competitions for excellent students, national science and technology competitions...

Notably, in 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Science will award approximately VND22 billion in scholarships to new students with excellent achievements in the 2025 regular university entrance exam. Of these, 11 new students will be awarded full scholarships equivalent to 4 years of tuition fees with a total value of up to VND320 million.

Full scholarships equivalent to 4 years of tuition fees were awarded to the 3 top students at the school level. Of which, 2 top students achieved 29.75 points in the A00 combination (math-physics-chemistry) in this year's high school graduation exam: Truong Van Hung and Huynh Tuong An. In addition, Tran Nhu Khai was the top student in the admission method based on the results of the 2025 capacity assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University with 1,106 points.

Full scholarships are also awarded to outstanding new students with international achievements. For example, Le Kien Thanh (Gold medalist of the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI)) was admitted to the Computer Science (Advanced Program). Le Phan Duc Man (Silver medalist of the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad) was admitted to the Computer Science (Advanced Program). Cao Trung Quan (Fourth prize winner of the 2025 International Science and Engineering Fair) was admitted to the Computer Science (Advanced Program).

The 4-year scholarship is also awarded to new students who won first prize in the 2025 national competition for excellent students in information technology and were admitted to the computer science major (advanced program), including: Vo Thanh Hai (Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted, Dak Lak ); Do Gia Huy (Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted, Dak Lak); Nguyen Dang Khang (Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai); Le Minh Nhat (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Quang Tri).

In addition, Doan Duc Minh (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Khanh Hoa ), who won first prize in the 2025 national math competition and was admitted to the majors of mathematics, applied mathematics, and mathematics and information technology, was also awarded a full scholarship.

Two runners-up in this year's entrance exam were awarded one-year scholarships: Nguyen Thanh Cong scored 29.5 points in the A00 combination in the 2025 high school graduation exam; Phan Nguyen Tuong Vy scored 1,091 points in the 2025 capacity assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Science held the opening ceremony and awarded scholarships to new students on September 12.
