Initial information, at noon on July 19, all patients attended a local death anniversary, with dishes prepared by X.D. restaurant (located in Phong Dinh ward).

After the meal, many people experienced symptoms such as stomachache and nausea and were taken to the hospital on the morning of July 20.

Through examination, doctors diagnosed 9 patients with acute gastroenteritis due to food poisoning. The most severe case is Ms. NTL (born in 1941) who suffered from septic shock and is being monitored in the Intensive Care Unit with slow response, intermittent abdominal pain, and fatigue. The remaining patients are currently in stable health.

The leaders of Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, said that the unit proactively has a plan to receive and classify patients according to severity for timely treatment. At the same time, it ensures adequate human resources, medicine, emergency equipment, and is ready to perform advanced techniques such as blood filtration and ECMO when necessary.

Regarding the incident, Mr. Trinh Duc Nhu, Chairman of Phong Dinh Ward People's Committee confirmed the information that some local residents were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning. Currently, the ward is directing relevant units to take food samples and coordinate to verify and clarify the cause of the incident.
