Changing the name from intermediate vocational school to vocational secondary school will have a more positive impact on the implementation of vocational training tasks.

It is necessary to remove financial difficulties for high schools in combining with vocational colleges, because currently high schools do not have coordination regulations. At the same time, based on local characteristics, studying vocational secondary school and studying culture is quite heavy, so many cases of dropping out of school halfway.
“Therefore, when there was information about the establishment of vocational high schools, I thought this was an opportunity for both vocational schools and students. Currently, the facilities of vocational schools are fully invested and equipped. Allowing colleges and intermediate schools to organize regular cultural education programs at schools not only creates maximum convenience for learners but also helps to effectively integrate cultural and vocational programs, improving the quality of comprehensive training,” said Mr. Phan Tiem.
The 9+ program is a parallel training model between vocational training and high school culture for junior high school graduates that has brought a lot of value to society. According to education experts, the program helps provide a direct labor source for society with a young, timely labor source. At Quang Nam College as well as vocational schools in Da Nang city, many students have participated in this training system, both mastering high school culture knowledge and being good at their jobs.

Currently, vocational training institutions are implementing the 9+ program in two directions. One is that students participate in vocational training and cultural studies at secondary schools and colleges. The other is vocational training and cultural studies at vocational education centers - continuing education. If the draft content on vocational secondary schools is passed, this is an opportunity for vocational training schools.
According to the draft, “vocational high school” will be the main choice after grade 9, while “intermediate level” will only be for high school graduates.
