The People's Procuracy of Tho Xuan district has just coordinated with the People's Court of the district to organize 3 online trials of criminal cases, including 2 cases of "Disturbing public order" and 1 case of "Resisting people on official duty".
The defendants brought to trial include: Ngo Duc Long and Nguyen Van Hoang, prosecuted for "Disturbing public order"; Trinh Thi Thoan and Vi Thi Thuy, prosecuted for "Resisting people on official duty".
The online trial was held at the central bridge point, the Court's Trial Hall, connected to the component bridge point at the District Police Detention Center. The trials were held in accordance with the prescribed order and procedures.
At the bridge points using the online camera system, defendants participating in the trial at the central bridge point and the component bridge points are still guaranteed to fully monitor images and sounds and participate in the proceedings and procedures of the trial by words and continuous, public litigation, ensuring the rights and obligations of the participants in the proceedings.
After the end of the trial, the District People's Procuracy and the District People's Court held a meeting to review experiences, clarify the results achieved as well as point out the remaining limitations to perform better in the next trials.
It is known that online trials will support in-person trials, help the Court improve the quality of trials, promote digital transformation in trial activities of People's Courts at all levels. Online trials also help propaganda and dissemination of laws achieve better results.
