New information about foldable iPhone revealed

(Dan Tri) - According to plan, the foldable screen iPhone will be introduced by Apple in September 2026.

In a recent post on social network X, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple's first foldable iPhone will have a Touch ID fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button on the side, instead of using a fingerprint under the screen.

"Currently, many rumors say that the foldable screen iPhone will use an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen. However, that is unlikely to happen. It is expected that Luxshare will provide the Touch ID module in the power button for the foldable screen iPhone," Kuo shared.

According to DigiTimes , the development of the foldable iPhone (iPhone Fold) has entered the first prototype manufacturing stage (Prototype 1). This is the first stage when the company creates a fully functional device.

If everything goes according to plan, Apple could complete prototype testing by the end of 2025. The product will then move on to the Engineering Verification Test (EVT) phase.

According to 9to5mac , the current stage is still very early. After testing with the first prototype, Apple will create two more prototypes before moving to the EVT stage. This is to determine the final design that can be put into production.

Each prototyping phase takes about two months, during which time Apple’s supply chain partners conduct testing before handing over assembly to companies like Foxconn and Pegatron, who confirm the product’s manufacturing capabilities and assembly capacity.

According to Bloomberg , the foldable iPhone will be equipped with a total of 4 cameras. Of which, one camera will be placed on the inner screen, one camera on the outer screen and 2 main cameras will be located on the back.

Previously, Digital Chat Station revealed that the foldable iPhone will be equipped with a dual 48MP camera cluster. Experts believe that the second lens is likely to be an ultra-wide-angle lens, instead of a telephoto lens, due to space constraints inside the foldable device.

According to a report from market research firm TrendForce , the foldable iPhone will be equipped with a 7.8-inch internal screen and a 5.5-inch external screen.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the crease on the device's screen will almost disappear. Apple is said to use a special metal frame that helps disperse pressure when the screen bends, thereby minimizing the impact that causes the crease.
