On June 6, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported that the country announced its first hypersonic ballistic missile named Fattah.

IRNA also published images of the announcement event, attended by Iranian President Ebrahim Rahisi and senior generals from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Fattah's maximum speed reaches 15,000 km/h, five times the speed of sound, and on a complex trajectory, making them difficult to intercept.
"Fattah can target the enemy's advanced missile defense systems and is a generational breakthrough in the missile field," IRNA said.
According to the news, this missile can overcome advanced defense systems of the US and Israel, including the Iron Dome system.
Previously, in November 2022, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, announced that Iran had developed a new hypersonic missile that could reach Israel in 400 seconds.
“This system is very high speed and has the ability to move in and out of the atmosphere, bypassing all defense systems... and I don't think we will find technology that can deal with it for decades to come,” the official said.
