On the morning of August 8, Major Tran Quoc Khanh, Head of Tam Thanh Border Guard Station ( Da Nang City Border Guard), said that the unit is coordinating with functional forces and people to urgently search for a fisherman who went missing while fishing at sea.
Previously, at around 4:30 p.m. on August 7, Tam Thanh Border Guard Station received a report from local residents that at 3 a.m. the same day, Mr. Phan Dinh Hong (72 years old, Hoa Thuong block, Quang Phu ward) went fishing in a basket boat (under 6m) but by late afternoon he had not yet returned to shore.
Tam Thanh Border Guard Station immediately deployed a working group of 5 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local forces to search along the coast.
At 5:00 p.m., search forces discovered Mr. Hong's basket boat drifting to the shore of Long Thanh village (Tam Xuan commune) but could not find any trace of Mr. Hong.

From 10 p.m. on August 7 to 4 a.m. on August 8, Tam Thanh Border Guard Station mobilized 3 vehicles and 8 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local authorities to continue searching at sea and along the shore.
Currently, the search continues to be deployed with 3 teams: 1 team using canoes to search at sea; 1 team coordinating with the Defense Force of Area 4 - Ban Thach, the Military Command and the Quang Phu Ward Police to search along the shore; 1 team searching along the coast of Tam Xuan and Tam Anh communes.
