Construction of Giang Vong communal house started

On the morning of August 8, the People's Committee of Cao Xanh ward held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Giang Vong communal house (Cai Da communal house), aiming to restore the spiritual and cultural work, serve the spiritual life of the people and preserve the identity for future generations.

Giang Vong Communal House is a symbol of community solidarity and a unique cultural mark of coastal residents.

Giang Vong Communal House (or Cai Da Communal House) was built around the end of the 19th century, worshiping the village's tutelary god, saints, officials and ancestors of the 7 major clans in the village.

Giang Vong Temple is one of the few remaining religious establishments of the fishing village people in the old Ha Long City area, dating back to the Nguyen Dynasty. This is not only a place to worship the village's tutelary deities, to commemorate the ancestors who reclaimed the land, but also a symbol of community solidarity, a unique cultural mark of coastal residents. Since 2009, Giang Vong communal house festival has been restored and maintained annually. In 2016, the communal house was ranked as a provincial historical and cultural relic.

Giang Vong Communal House is now seriously degraded, many items are damaged. Faced with this situation, Cao Xanh Ward People's Committee has implemented the project to restore and embellish the Giang Vong Communal House historical relic with a total area of ​​about 612.6m²; total investment of nearly 12 billion VND from socialized capital and other legal sources.

It is expected that the renovation and embellishment will be completed by the end of 2026. Up to this point, the amount of money that the Campaign Committee has received is over 6.7 billion VND.

Cao Xanh ward leaders received support from charitable organizations to implement the project.

Upon completion, the Project will contribute to improving the religious and spiritual needs of the community, contributing to the sustainable development of Cao Xanh ward, linking heritage conservation with tourism and cultural development.
