For the first time in history, the International Chemistry Olympiad team won 4 Gold Medals

Notably, of the 4 Gold Medals the team won, 2 were in the top 10.

Specifically, Ngo Quang Minh, a 12th grade student at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province, ranked 7th.

Nguyen Hoang Khoi, a 12th grade student at the High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education, ranked 10th.

The Vietnamese student team participating in the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO) won 4 Gold Medals.

Giang Duc Dung, a 12th grade student at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences , University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, ranked 14th.

Nguyen Manh Tuan, 11th grade student, Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi, ranked 37th.

In the medal tally, the Vietnamese team ranked equal with the Chinese and American teams in terms of the number of gold medals.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, this is also the first time in history that the Vietnamese team has won 4 Gold Medals in a live ICHO Competition. This year's achievement of the Vietnamese team continues the impressive achievements at ICHO Competitions in recent years.

With a total of 24 contestants competing from 2020-2025, the Vietnamese delegation excellently won 24/24 medals, including 21 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals.

The International Chemistry Olympiad is the world's largest and most prestigious competition, held annually for high school students in the field of Chemistry. This year, the 57th competition was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the participation of delegations from 90 countries and territories, with 354 contestants competing from July 5-14.

Candidates taking the ICHO Exam must take one theory test and one practical test, each lasting 5 hours.

The practical exam requires candidates to master experimental skills from basic to advanced, requiring precision, logical thinking and proficient laboratory operations.

Meanwhile, the theoretical exam revolves around environmental issues, technology or applications of chemistry in life such as: seawater desalination, solar energy, tennis balls, lanterns... requiring candidates to apply general knowledge and critical thinking to solve problems.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, this year's exam structure is considered creative, close to real life but still ensures scientific depth.
