Memorial service to pay tribute to heroic martyrs

On the morning of July 24, at Phu Lien Pagoda, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thai Nguyen province held a memorial service to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025). Attending the ceremony were comrade Do Thi Minh Hoa, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of a number of departments, branches, localities and a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people.

In a solemn and sacred atmosphere, the Ceremony Committee invited the souls of the heroic martyrs to the pagoda to perform the Buddhist tradition of praying for the souls of the martyrs. The prayer to call the souls of the martyrs read at the ceremony expressed the people's infinite gratitude for the great contributions of those who died for the independence and freedom of the nation; and prayed for national peace and prosperity.

Speaking at the ceremony, Venerable Thich Nguyen Thanh, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thai Nguyen province, emphasized: The memorial service to pay tribute to heroic martyrs was held on the occasion of Vu Lan Festival, one of the important Buddhist ceremonies expressing gratitude and the good tradition of "When drinking water, remember to drink" of the Vietnamese people.
