Huong Tra village is located on the Tam Ky river, in the southern suburbs of the city. Hundreds of years ago, people planted Dalbergia to prevent landslides and floods along the dike. Unlike Dalbergia tortatum (Huynh Dan) in the North, Dalbergia tortatum is called Garden Dalbergia tortatum by people in the Central region. This species is in the same genus as Dalbergia tortatum and Bird's Eye Dalbergia tortatum, not a precious wood like Dalbergia tortatum in the North. Previously, Dalbergia tortatum grew naturally, and people planted it in their gardens to use as firewood.
Every year around April, the Sua flowers bloom in clusters and have a light yellow fragrance, taking over the entire space of Huong Tra village. Since 2017, the Tam Ky City government has chosen Huong Tra village to organize the Sua flower festival, attracting thousands of visitors.
