Lenovo dominates the global computer market

The global PC market recovered strongly, with Lenovo holding the top spot with 17 million devices shipped in the second quarter, equivalent to 24.8% market share.

The global PC market grew 6.5% year-on-year in the second quarter.

According to a report from market research firm IDC, the number of computers shipped globally in the second quarter reached 68.4 million devices, up 6.5% over the same period last year.

Lenovo led the market with 17 million devices shipped in the second quarter, equivalent to 24.8% of the global PC market share. Compared to the same period last year, the manufacturer's output grew by 15.2%.

HP ranked second with 20.7% market share, corresponding to 14.1 million devices shipped. Dell ranked third with 14.3% market share, down 3% compared to the number of shipments in the same period in 2024.

Apple ranked fourth and was also the fastest growing manufacturer, growing 21.4% year-on-year in 2024. The company shipped 6.2 million devices, equivalent to 9.1% of the global PC market share.

Asus ranked fifth with a 7.2% global market share, equivalent to 4.9 million devices shipped. This manufacturer also recorded a growth of 16.7% compared to the same period in Q2/2024.

Experts at IDC also said that the computer industry grew in most regions. However, the US market has begun to feel the effects of import tax policies.

According to experts, the global computer market is likely to continue growing in the third quarter of 2025.
