MobiFone actively accompanies customers in converting to mobile technology

On September 13, 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) issued Circular No. 10/2024/TT-BTTTT stipulating the extension of the service suspension period for 2G phones to October 16, 2024.

Information about the shutdown of 2G waves in recent times has received much attention from people, especially in the context of storms, phone waves are extremely practical. On September 13, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued a Circular stipulating the extension of the time to stop providing services for 2G phones. Accordingly, the suspension of service for subscriber terminals that only support 2G (2G Only) will be extended by one month, from September 16, 2024 to October 16, 2024.

This means that 2G phone users will have more time to upgrade and switch to using new technology phones to meet their communication needs in daily life. The action of delaying the signal shutdown time of the Ministry of Information and Communications is considered very practical and timely, helping people and businesses promptly overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3. On the other hand, a group of 2G Only subscribers who have not yet converted include vulnerable groups, poor households, and hard-to-reach areas such as remote, mountainous areas... affected by storms and floods.

Along with the extension of the 2G phone signal shutdown deadline, MobiFone also extended the promotion program "Change 2G device - Surprise promotion" until October 15, 2024. According to MobiFone, the extension of the promotion period will give people more time to upgrade their devices to experience the modern network environment, helping the program "Change 2G device - Surprise promotion" reach more MobiFone customers.

Accordingly, from now until October 15, 2024, MobiFone will offer free FP2 package (2GB/day for 90 days) to customers using 2G phones who switch to using smartphones (after 3 months, renew to MXH100 package) and CD4G package (1,000 minutes of MobiFone domestic calls and 40 minutes of off-net calls, used for 30 days) to customers using 2G phones who switch to using 4G feature phones (after 1 month of renewal at the price of 50,000 VND/month).

In addition, the network operator also offers free 4G SIM card exchange for customers using 2G/3G SIM cards; and a data package worth 30,000 VND (30GB/7 days) for customers using 2G SIM cards on smartphones who exchange for 4G SIM cards within the 2 months of the program.

Regarding the phone support programs, MobiFone gives away Masstel Izi S1/T2 phones to 2G subscribers when registering for the 12CD70 package (70,000 VND/month for 12 months, free domestic calls and 70 minutes of off-network calls/month); Gives away 670 Samsung A05 smartphones to poor households in Da Nang.

To support people, MobiFone network cooperates with retailers to launch incentive programs for customers. During the program, people who bring their 2G phones that are still working normally to The Gioi Di Dong can exchange them for a new 4G phone, receive a coupon worth 480,000 VND to buy SIM Data 3MXH100 and 3 months free of charge to use the 3MXH100 package with 90GB for 90 days. FPT Shop also launched the program "Turn off 2G signal, exchange for 4G phone" with a policy of giving up to 600,000 VND to customers when exchanging from a used 2G phone to a 4G phone.

Through the above series of incentive programs, it can be seen that MobiFone always accompanies the Government to support people in converting to the digital environment.
