The victim was identified as DMC (born in 2016), living in An Duong district, Hai Phong city.

Preliminary information, Mr. Doan Phi Long's family (An Duong, Hai Phong) went on vacation to Bai Chay beach, Quang Ninh. Mr. Long stood on the shore to watch his children and grandchildren bathing when he discovered his grandson DVH (born 2013) was drowning, so he jumped in to save H. When he looked down at the sea and did not see his son DMC, Mr. Long called for help but C. was missing.

According to Mr. Long, at the time of the accident, he and his children were standing about 15 meters from the water's edge. Despite the warning sign "dangerous area, no swimming", the children still went swimming.

The incident was reported to the People's Committee of Bai Chay ward.

The local authorities have mobilized functional forces together with the Military Command of Quang Ninh province and Ha Long city to carry out the search. However, up to now, the victim is still missing.

The incident is a warning to tourists and residents when bringing children to beach areas, especially areas with danger warning signs.

Search and rescue work continues.
