According to Chairman of Quang Tin Commune People's Committee Nguyen Van Sang, on the evening of August 20, a heavy rain accompanied by whirlwinds and lightning occurred in the area, causing roofs to be blown off and damage to at least 13 houses, and the collapse of a 110kV power pole (Dak Sin 2 village) and a welcome gate (Dak Sin 3 village).

Heavy rains also caused water from upstream to flow into small streams in Quang Tan commune. The floodwaters washed away three temporary bridges across streams in the area. At least one house along the stream was eroded and one house was flooded.

Quang Tan commune authorities evacuated people from the dangerous area.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tan Commune, Tran Vinh Phu, said that immediately after receiving the information, the forces quickly arrived and evacuated two households to a safe place.

The government has mobilized many forces to support people in responding to and overcoming the consequences caused by natural disasters.
