In addition, Dung also passed the entrance exam to grade 6 at Cau Giay Secondary School (Hanoi). He scored 27 points; specifically: math 9.75 points; Vietnamese 7.5 points; English 9.75 points.

In addition, Dung also received a full scholarship from Hoang Mai Star Secondary School and a 50% scholarship from Hanoi Star Secondary School.

Study less but effectively, the secret comes from concentration and discipline

According to Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy - Dung's mother - the secret to his learning is nothing special other than maintaining diligence and discipline.

When letting her children take the 6th grade aptitude tests, Ms. Thuy pays close attention to her children's psychology. She affirms that all children have their own learning pressure, regardless of their learning ability, parents just need to be a little observant to realize it right away.

For her part, Ms. Thuy always tries to create the most comfortable mindset for her children in studying and taking exams, so that they can develop their full potential and not have to endure much psychological pressure.

For example, after Dung set a goal of being admitted to a number of high-quality secondary schools, he asked his mother: "What if I don't pass, Mom?". Ms. Thuy reassured him that in case he doesn't pass, there are still many other options for him, and his parents will apply for him to study at schools near home, based on his household registration.

Hearing his mother explain like that, Dung's psychological knot was untied and he felt very comfortable when taking the 6th grade aptitude test. For Ms. Thuy, studying and taking exams are valuable experiences for her child's journey to adulthood, especially on the journey to conquer knowledge.

What values are received after each exam largely depends on the way parents perceive and talk to their children.

For example, when letting their child participate in some competency assessment exams for grade 6, Thuy and her husband helped Dung see this as an interesting and useful experience, a knowledge playground for him to know who he is, where he is, compared to his peers.

Studying and taking exams are valuable experiences, not stressful races.

Thuy and her husband never set high expectations for their child. On the contrary, they always find ways to make their child feel comfortable and find joy in learning. All of Dung's results up to this point have come naturally, after Dung has diligently studied and practiced.

Even when facing important moments, Ms. Thuy will help the child prepare mentally for the worst situation. Once the worst situation has been faced and a solution has been found, both the child and the parent will feel comfortable and be able to strive for better results.

In the family, Dung is the youngest son, his two older siblings are all adults. Therefore, he receives attention, care and support from both parents and siblings in studying as well as in life. In the family, members take turns supporting Dung in studying during his self-study time.

Currently, Dung's family has chosen to send him to study at the University of Education's Gifted Secondary School. In terms of long-term vision, the family respects Dung's inclinations and wishes. He said he loves natural sciences .

During his junior high school years, he set himself the goal of studying hard and practicing with the aim of passing the entrance exam to the Mathematics and Information Technology major of the National University of Education High School.

Ms. Thuy said that Dung is not a “bookworm” and does not study much. She and her husband agree on the point of view that their child should study less but study effectively. The most important factor in studying, according to them, is concentration. They help their child divide his study and rest time reasonably so that he can achieve the best performance and concentration when entering the study time frame.

Since Dung started school, Thuy and her husband have focused on training their child in good study habits, helping him form the habit of sitting at the desk at the right time. Once sitting at the desk, even if he is studying at home, he needs to have a focused and serious attitude so that his study time can be effective.

In addition, Dung's parents also focus on helping their child develop discipline and self-awareness early on to follow the schedule that the parents and child have agreed upon. The ultimate goal is to create balance for the child. Currently, outside of school hours, Dung often goes swimming and walking.

Mr. Tran Nhat Minh - Dung's math tutor - commented that he has a sharp mind for math, good learning ability, and has the potential to excel in math. To his friends, Dung is a gentle, cheerful, and sociable boy.

Presently, with the impressive results that Dung achieved in the 6th grade entrance exams, Mr. Minh congratulated his student. However, according to Mr. Minh, these are only the initial results on the journey to conquer knowledge.

I hope that the family and Dung will enjoy the fun and also help him balance, so that Dung will always work hard and strive to achieve bigger goals in the long term.
