On August 30, Mr. Tran Van Phu - Head of Nha Trang Tourist Wharf Management Department (under Nha Trang Bay Management Board) - said that on the first day of the September 2 holiday, the wharf recorded a rather small number of visitors to the islands in Nha Trang Bay, only over 4,000 visitors, equal to about 60% of the number of visitors per day during the peak summer tourist season this year.

Few tourists come to Nha Trang because it is the end of the tourist season.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , there is no traffic congestion on the central roads of Nha Trang like every year. Many families from southern provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho , Tay Ninh... choose to drive their own cars. Sidewalks and parking garages of coastal hotels along Tran Phu Street are packed with cars.

At some other tourist attractions such as Ponagar Tower, Oceanographic Museum, Vinpearl wharf, the number of tourists arriving in the afternoon is relatively large, mostly Russian and Korean tourists.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phi Hong Nguyen - Vice President of the Travel Association (Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association), as previously predicted, the number of tourists coming to Nha Trang during the September 2nd holiday this year is not large.

Guests are mainly local and neighboring provinces with short tours, can travel back and forth in a day.

"This year, there is an event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, so most tourists choose to go to Hanoi and the northern provinces. It is also the end of the summer tourist season and close to the new school year, so families often choose to rest at home, return to their hometowns or choose day tours rather than long-term package tours," said Mr. Nguyen.

It is known that this year's holiday season Khanh Hoa organizes a number of outstanding cultural and tourism products to welcome guests.

Notably, the special art program celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on the evening of September 2nd, at two central locations, April 2nd Square (Nha Trang Ward) and April 16th Square (Dong Hai Ward), with a low-altitude fireworks display lasting 15 minutes.

East Dak Lak bustling with Central Highlands visitors

On the contrary, according to records on August 30 at accommodation facilities and parking lots in Tuy Hoa ward (Dak Lak province), the number of Central Highlands visitors was quite large.

Along the main roads, vehicles with license plates from Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City... are the majority. Hotels and homestays near the beach also have room occupancy rates of over 80%.

A representative of Apec Mandala Wyndham Phu Yen hotel said that more than 80% of the rooms here have been booked, mostly by domestic guests.

"Guests from Dak Lak and the Central Highlands provinces make up about 50% of the hotel's guests. The main stay is from August 30 to 31, and from September 1 onwards, the number of guests has gradually decreased," said a representative of Apec Mandala Wyndham Phu Yen.

A representative of Tui Blue Tuy Hoa Hotel also said that on holidays, the hotel welcomes a large number of individual tourists or family groups traveling by private vehicles. Because the eastern part of Dak Lak is connected to the North-South Expressway, after finishing the expressway, tourists often choose this as a stopover and a day trip.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - owner of Bon Binh red garden (Son Hoa commune, Dak Lak) - said: "It's the season of ripe red flowers. Since yesterday, my garden has welcomed dozens of tourist cars bringing visitors to visit and take pictures with the red garden. Before the holiday, my family and I cleaned up the garden and arranged the miniature landscapes...".

This is where my family often travels because the food prices are very affordable."

Mr. Nguyen Le Vu - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak - said that on the occasion of the National Day holiday of September 2, the department coordinated to organize the art program "Thousand Waves" at 7:30 p.m. on September 2 at Nghinh Phong Tower Square (Tuy Hoa Ward).
