The first Vietnamese Rice Festival in Ho Chi Minh City

The Vietnamese Rice Noodle Festival is expected to be held annually to promote cuisine and attract tourists. With the theme 'Delicious dishes from vermicelli', the organizers hope that Vietnamese vermicelli will be elevated, spread and known to the whole world.

On August 22, at the press conference introducing the first Vietnamese Rice Noodle Festival, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association - informed that the first Vietnamese Rice Noodle Festival with the theme "Delicious dishes from vermicelli" will take place from October 16 to 19 at 23-9 Park (Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

The event was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, with the participation of about 150 booths displaying and introducing vermicelli flour products, fresh vermicelli, rice noodles, processed spices and special side dishes.

"The participating units are transparent with the organizers about the origin to ensure food safety, list the selling price... to avoid "overcharging" during the festival. This is not an activity for business, but for the community," Ms. Khanh emphasized.

The festival not only introduces delicious dishes made from rice but also recreates interesting experiential spaces, combining traditional and modern cuisine .

The theme "Delicious dishes from vermicelli" will guide visitors to explore a variety of famous vermicelli dishes across the country, from Hanoi vermicelli with grilled pork, Hai Phong perch vermicelli, Hue beef vermicelli, crab vermicelli, Can Tho vermicelli with fish sauce, Nha Trang vermicelli with fish sauce, Soc Trang vermicelli with broth...

In addition, there will be famous delicious dishes made from rice noodles such as pho, hu tieu, banh hoi, banh tam...; as well as activities to experience the traditional rice noodle production process.
