This morning, 2 days before the God of Wealth's day (the 10th day of the first lunar month), many people went to gold and silver shops in Hanoi to buy gold for good luck on the first day of the new year.

At a gold and jewelry business on Cau Giay Street (Cau Giay District, Hanoi), the parking lot of this business was packed with customers' vehicles coming to buy gold. In fact, the number of vehicles was so large that many customers had no more parking space and had to go to the building next door.

Inside, the rows of waiting seats for customers were full. According to the staff here, since yesterday, the number of customers coming to buy gold has been very crowded, on February 4 alone, it was estimated that there were about 300-350 customers. And today, from 9am onwards, the seats were full.

Despite the high price of gold, many people still go to gold and silver shops to buy gold at the beginning of the new year.

Opening the trading session on February 5, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by large enterprises at 88-91 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 400,000 VND for buying and 900,000 VND for selling compared to the closing price of yesterday's session. The difference between the two buying and selling prices is 3 million VND/tael.

The checkout area was also crowded with customers lining up waiting their turn.

Domestic gold prices have increased rapidly and strongly as the God of Wealth Day approaches. The gold price increase before this holiday is a familiar scenario in the gold market.

At the beginning of the new year, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai (Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi) went to the gold shop in Cau Giay from 9am to wait for his turn to buy gold. Mr. Hai said that he planned to buy 5 taels of plain round gold rings for luck and this was also a way for him to accumulate assets, the cost was about more than 45 million VND.

The price of plain round gold rings this morning set a new record, listed at 88-90.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 400,000 VND for buying and 900,000 VND for selling compared to the closing price of yesterday's session.

Ms. Viet Phuong (Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi) has been queuing up since 9am to buy gold before God of Wealth Day. Ms. Phuong said: "I came here yesterday afternoon but it was too crowded so I couldn't buy anything. This morning I came at 9am but now it's noon and I still haven't been able to buy any gold because the queue is too crowded and it's not my turn yet."

"The price of gold this year is too high. Yesterday afternoon it was the same price and this morning it has increased to the new price. Instead of choosing to save money, I keep the habit of buying gold to store. This year I plan to buy 3 taels of smooth round gold rings," Ms. Phuong continued.

In addition to buying 5 taels of plain round gold rings, Mr. Xuan Bach (Tay Ho district) also chose some gold jewelry products with the 2025 snake mascot for luck in the new year.

As every year, gold products symbolizing the new year according to the zodiac animal of each year are launched by gold businesses to serve customer needs.

Recorded at Tran Nhan Tong street (Hai Ba Trung district), the street is known for many gold, silver and gemstone businesses, today is quite crowded and bustling before the God of Wealth's day.
