(CLO) On the morning of February 18, in Hanoi , Tuoi Tre Theater held a press conference to launch the special musical "Fire from the Earth", aiming to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025).

Speaking at the press conference, Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh, General Director and Deputy Director of the Youth Theater, said: "Fire from the Earth" is a story about the life and revolutionary career of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - the first official Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. With passionate patriotism and deep revolutionary awareness, Nguyen Ngoc Vu, his family and friends, as well as many classes of Hanoians, including the urban intellectual class, participated in the revolution with a strong belief in the revolutionary ideals that Leader Nguyen Ai Quoc had shown the way.

He understood that the humiliation of losing the country could only be resolved by the revolutionary struggle to regain independence and freedom, and that he would have to fight his youth in prison, or even sacrifice his life for the revolutionary cause of national liberation, and absolutely refuse to be a slave.

The Musical “Fire from the Earth” is the fire of patriotism, of belief in a bright future, the fire of the struggle for national liberation, the fire of the pioneer heroes who sacrificed themselves and inspired the people (intellectuals, workers, farmers...) to move towards the revolutionary Autumn General Uprising in 1945.

"By inspiring like-minded people to continue on a journey full of challenges and hardships but also full of glorious pride, the "Fire from the Earth" is the sacred fire in the hearts of the people, symbolizing the immortal spirit and belief. The Earth is the people, symbolizing the Party lighting the fire in the darkness of slavery. This fire was born and burned strongly from the people because the Party was born from the nation's aspiration for independence and freedom" - Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh emphasized.

According to Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh, "Fire from the Earth" is not a psychological drama but a heroic epic in a simple way, exploiting stories from real characters, with the story setting in 1930 when the Communist Party of Vietnam was just born, so that viewers can feel the image of the people's hearts - the party's will from the first days of its establishment.

The creative and staging team of "Fire from the Earth" has successfully performed the above musicals many times, including Stage Director Dao Duy Anh, a young director of the Youth Theater but has a lot of experience in conveying the role's psychology to the actors, always creating inspiration for the sublimation of the characters he builds... In particular, the play has the creative participation of People's Artist - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts - Chief Choreographer Tran Ly Ly. She was honored to be awarded the "Artist Award" for her outstanding dance works named "Thien", "Mam Dat", "Han Sac". With her talent and experience, People's Artist Tran Ly Ly is a success of the play in terms of visual language.

Meritorious Artist Nguyen Si Tien, Director of the Youth Theatre, Artistic Director of the program shared: “With the youthfulness of a National Theatre, the Youth Theatre still maintains its faith, passion, and enthusiasm to blend in and deeply integrate with the flow of World Culture. In addition to the outstanding plays that have left an impression on the audience, recently the Theatre continues to create and build new plays in the style of Musicals to approach and suit the current trends of the Stage, meeting the diverse art enjoyment needs of the public in the new era."

The musical "Fire from the Earth" will officially open on March 15 and 16, 2025 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, 91 Tran Hung Dao, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, initially serving State leaders, Party leaders and central and local ministries, departments and branches under Hanoi.

Regarding the idea of stage art design for the musical "Lau Tu Dat", Director Cao Ngoc Anh and Art Designer - People's Artist Do Doan Bang agreed to set the criteria: the stage will be presented through dynamic modules that can move and rotate to effectively transform the space through the scenes. The design will carry the typical forms of old Hanoi streets and the architectural and interior features of houses, street corners and the atmosphere of Hanoi in the early 20th century.

3D Mapping technology effect using a high-power 30-40k projector (without using LED screen) to dye the entire or part of the stage will be used throughout the play, contributing to illustrating the space or dividing the space, both creating the atmosphere of the scene and opening up more performance space to bring emotions and stimulate the imagination of the audience in a more impressive way.
