Fined 35 million VND, deducted 10 points for driver driving in the wrong direction

On July 11, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security) said that they had fined a driver driving in the wrong direction on the Bung - Van Ninh Highway after SGGP Newspaper reported it.

Authorities invited driver Bac to work

Accordingly, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 received information from SGGP Newspaper and identified the driver who violated traffic laws on the Bung - Van Ninh Highway as Pham Duy Bac (born in 1978, residing in Le Ninh Commune, Quang Tri Province).

Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 said they had invited driver Bac to work based on the content reported by SGGP Newspaper.

Pham Duy Bac admitted that at 11:25 a.m. on June 24, 2025, at km 635+300 of the Bung - Van Ninh expressway, Bac drove the car in the wrong direction.

At 9:00 a.m. on July 1, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 made a record, determining that Bac violated point D, clause 11, article 6, Decree 168/2024 CP.

Bac's vehicle was detained for 7 days and his driver's license was deducted 10 points.

For this action, Bac had his car 73C-14979 and driver's license temporarily detained for 7 working days, fined 35 million VND, and had 10 points deducted from the 12-point scale of his driver's license.

Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 thanked SGGP Newspaper for promptly reporting the violation of driver Bac to promptly handle it and deter other drivers.

Previously, SGGP Newspaper reported that at noon on June 24, vehicles traveling on the Bung - Van Ninh highway (section through Bo Trach district, old Quang Binh province), in the direction from Dong Hoi to Phong Nha, had a "scary" moment.

According to a car's dashcam, after passing the Viet Trung intersection for more than 10km, on the Bung - Van Ninh highway, a pickup truck appeared running in the opposite direction with license plate 73C-14979.
