Promoting the role of streets and villages in performing tasks

On the morning of January 30, Thanh Hoa City Party Committee held a conference to summarize the work of the wards and villages in 2023 and deploy key tasks in 2024. The conference was held online at 34 connecting points of wards and communes.

Thanh Hoa City has 311 streets and villages in 34 wards and communes. In 2023, the streets and villages mobilized people to effectively implement the program of building "Civilized urban areas - friendly citizens", focusing on the campaign "City residents speak good words, do good deeds, act friendly", creating cohesion and solidarity in the community. The movement to build "Cultural families" and "Cultural residential areas" spread widely. The implementation of civilized lifestyles in weddings and funerals has basically become routine. To date, the city has 20/34 wards and communes launching civilized wedding models; 78,201 families have been recognized as "Cultural families" (reaching 85.6%), 262/311 streets and villages have been recognized as "Cultural residential areas" (reaching 84.2%).

The movement for the entire people to protect national security has been widely and specifically deployed. The streets and villages have done a good job of propagating and mobilizing the people to raise their vigilance, ensure peace in residential areas, prevent and repel violations of the law and crimes.

During the year, the streets and villages regularly launched a campaign to clean up the environment, renovate the drainage system, and replace damaged panels. Many models of the streets and villages have mobilized a large number of people to participate, such as "Self-managed residential area to protect the environment", "Self-managed green, clean, beautiful road", "Flowering electric poles", flower roads... Up to now, the streets and villages have launched 136 model roads on environmental sanitation, planted 11,312 new flower pots, 17,231m of flower roads, 68 models of "Clean house - beautiful garden", and mobilized the installation of 7,619 sanitary trash cans.

In the work of building Party organizations and Party members, the Party cells in the streets and villages have focused on leading the implementation of key tasks, closely following the goals set out in the Resolution of the Party Cell Congress. 2023 is a breakthrough year in the work of creating a source of mass members to join the Party with 169 Party members admitted, an increase of 102 Party members.

In 2024, the streets and villages will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and effectively carry out the set goals and tasks. The focus is on propagating and mobilizing people to actively develop the socio -economy, build many exemplary models, maintain security and order; improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party cell, build a clean and strong Party cell; improve the quality of activities of the street and village chiefs, heads of the Front work committees and heads of mass organizations...

At the conference, Lieutenant Colonel Do Ngoc Duong, Chief of Thanh Hoa City Police, deployed a plan to ensure security and order for the 2024 Lunar New Year with the following goals: Ensure good political security, prevent sudden and unexpected incidents, especially strikes, protests, mass petitions and sabotage activities, and disrupt security and order. Absolutely protect the safety of political, economic, cultural and social events, international and central delegations coming to the area before, during and after Tet. Timely prevent criminal activities, prevent serious cases and cases that cause public outrage. Prevent serious traffic accidents, prolonged traffic jams, illegal racing; ensure good urban and public order. Prevent illegal fireworks and serious fires and explosions.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Thanh Hoa City People's Council Le Anh Xuan emphasized: The achievements of 311 streets and villages have made an important contribution, together with the Party Committees and authorities of wards, communes and the city, to completing the goals and tasks of 2023.

To complete the goals and tasks set out in 2024, he suggested: Party Committees of wards and communes closely follow the local realities, focus on leading and directing Party cells to seriously, effectively, substantially, and with a focus on key points in the implementation of Conclusion 796-KL/TU of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on "Improving the quality of Party cell activities in Thanh Hoa City's streets and villages in the period of 2023-2028". In implementing Conclusion 796, the Organizing Committee of the City Party Committee must fully synthesize the recommendations of wards and communes through Party cell activities to direct their resolution; the Office of the City Party Committee regularly urges and inspects the implementation after receiving instructions from the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; localities must strictly implement the information and reporting regime.

Party committees of wards and communes need to lead, direct and assign tasks to Party cells in the streets and villages in organizing the implementation of economic, cultural - social development, national defense - security and Party building goals. Based on the assigned content, Party cells must develop plans to lead the implementation in their streets and villages in the most effective way.

Party cells in the city and villages need to maintain and seriously organize the implementation of Party cell activities, and at the same time regularly innovate the content of activities associated with the assessment of the implementation of the Party cell's conclusions each month and each quarter. Along with that, it is necessary to seriously implement the participation of Party cell members in Party cell activities to listen to opinions from the grassroots and grasp emerging issues in order to resolve them promptly and effectively.

Regarding security and order work, the City Party Secretary requested Party secretaries of wards and communes and relevant forces to seriously implement the plan to ensure security and order for the 2024 Lunar New Year, absolutely not allowing fires, illegal fireworks and not allowing serious crimes to occur.
