Deputy Prime Minister directs consideration of early announcement of 10th grade exam plan

In response to parents' concerns about the 10th grade exam with a 'secret' third subject announced close to the exam date, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long directed the Ministry of Education and Training to carefully review and consider regulations on the announcement time for the early 10th grade exam plan.

The Government Office has issued document No. 8347 conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on handling press information reflecting on the draft regulations on middle school and high school enrollment.

Recently, the press has reported information related to the draft regulations on middle school and high school admissions.

Accordingly, the draft regulations on junior high school and high school admissions proposes that the 10th grade exam will include three subjects including math, literature and a third subject or a combined exam selected by the Department of Education and Training and the university with the high school and announced before March 31 every year.

On forums, many parents agree with the option of taking 3-subject exams to enter grade 10 of high school.

However, parents are worried and anxious about the "secret" third exam subject being announced so close to the exam date.

Parents think that the Ministry of Education and Training should adjust the exam announcement time earlier so that students can review.

In response to the above information, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long directed the Ministry of Education and Training to carefully review, research, and absorb public opinions.
