Earlier, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Long arrived at the scene to direct rescue operations and investigate the cause of the fire. Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister assigned to manage the Ministry of Public Security, also arrived at the scene.

At present, the scene area is still being blocked off by authorities.

Previously, at around 0:30 on May 24, a large fire broke out at a boarding house in lane 98, lane 119, Trung Kinh street (Cau Giay district, Hanoi ). The fire quickly flared up, accompanied by several loud explosions.

The fire broke out at a rental house consisting of 5 floors, two rooms per floor, the first floor sells electric bicycles and repairs electric bicycles.

After the fire fighting efforts, the fire was extinguished at about 1 a.m. on May 24. Local residents recorded many bodies being brought out. By 6 a.m., according to initial statistics, 14 people who died at the scene were taken out of the burning house to the Transport Hospital. In addition, there were a number of other injuries.
