The expanded immunization program is implemented with the aim of providing active immunization to the entire population, especially children in the target group with immature resistance and weak immune system. According to statistics from the Ministry of Health , about 85-95% of vaccinated people will develop specific immunity to protect the body from infectious agents. This means that vaccinated people will avoid the risk of illness or death caused by epidemics.

In Quang Ninh, there are currently two forms of vaccination: the expanded vaccination program and service vaccination. The expanded vaccination program is implemented in all communes and wards in the province. Accordingly, children under 1 year old are vaccinated free of charge against 10 common and highly fatal infectious diseases, including: tuberculosis, hepatitis B, diphtheria, whooping cough, polio, tetanus, Hib meningitis, rubella, measles, and Japanese encephalitis.

People can get vaccinated against diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, chickenpox, measles, mumps, rubella, influenza, hepatitis B, meningococcal meningitis, diseases caused by pneumococcus, cervical cancer, sexually transmitted diseases, etc. The province currently has 58 vaccination facilities (18 vaccination rooms at medical facilities in the province; 42 private vaccination facilities).

Thanks to that, the annual full vaccination result has reached over 95%, vaccination for newborns reached over 85%, and for pregnant women reached over 85%. The annual vaccination/supplemental vaccination campaign has been implemented synchronously and effectively, ensuring vaccination safety.
