Son Tay Ward: Visiting and giving gifts to flooded households

Due to the impact of storm No. 5, many areas in Son Tay ward were heavily flooded, many roads were cut off, Cam An alley, alley 5 (Ngo Quyen) and residential group 11 Quang Trung were severely affected, with water depth from 0.7m to 1m.

On August 31, Son Tay ward leaders visited and gave gifts to disadvantaged households in flooded residential groups 7 and 11.

At the destinations, the leaders of Son Tay ward kindly visited the living conditions, encouraged the households to overcome difficulties to soon return to normal life and gave gifts to support 27 households with difficult circumstances living in these areas, each gift worth 500,000 VND and 1 box of instant noodles.

Previously, Son Tay ward leaders also visited and gave gifts and support to 37 households in Lo Da alley (Ngo Quyen) and alley 4 Quang Trung affected by storm No. 5.

Of which, for 22 households in difficult circumstances, each gift is worth 500,000 VND/household along with instant noodles and drinking water; and for other households, each household receives 1 box of instant noodles and 1 box of drinking water. The funding is taken from the relief fund of the ward and Thanh Son Company Limited.

Currently, in the ward, there are still many residential areas that are partially flooded, some traffic routes are heavily flooded, such as: The intersections between Hoang Dieu Street and Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, the 19-5 Factory (old suspension bridge), the National Highway 32 Yen Thinh residential group adjacent to Song Tich restaurant, the HUD urban area from Lam Ki hotel gate to Tri bridge.

Also on August 31, the People's Committee of Son Tay Ward issued an urgent notice, requesting residential groups to closely monitor the storm's developments, promptly notify people; check and review flooded areas, dangerous areas, and have timely evacuation plans. Mobilize people to implement "4 on-the-spot": Secure assets, evacuate from dangerous areas, stock up on food and medicine. Areas near the Tich River, the Red River, low-lying fields, etc. need to be especially vigilant and have plans to evacuate residents.

The Ward Military Command inspected vulnerable points, landslides, and flooding; prepared rescue plans; and prepared forces and means to handle dangerous situations that may arise. Relevant departments, offices, and units seriously carried out assigned tasks...
