Many items have prices that change daily, making it difficult to list prices.
Recently, the listing of product prices has been fully implemented by many units, stores, and shopping centers. Actual surveys at shopping centers, supermarkets, and convenience stores in the province show that most of the counters and shelves are arranged and neatly organized and display goods in different groups. All items have listed prices, making it convenient for consumers to compare prices and choose to buy products.
At Tinh Bien market (Tinh Bien ward), the market management board regularly organizes meetings with traders to promote and encourage good commercial behavior. In addition to mobilizing the arrangement of goods according to regulations, the management unit also propagates that traders strictly follow the price posting, sell at the right price, the right goods, the right quality; do not sell fake goods, smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, etc. Mr. Le Van Trong (tourist) shared: "Here, the goods are very diverse, the prices are very affordable, and are publicly listed, we feel very secure when shopping. In particular, the traders are very friendly, so shopping is very comfortable."
My Binh Market is one of the trusted shopping places for people in Long Xuyen ward and neighboring localities. This is one of the oldest and busiest trading and business markets. The products at the market are quite diverse, from clothes, shoes, handbags, stationery to fresh and processed foods... According to the survey, the traders in the market have a smart way of posting product prices. Instead of posting the entire product price, the traders replace it with the letter "K" instead of the "thousand" unit. This method helps customers recognize the price easily and quickly. Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam (a resident who comes to the market to shop) said that writing the product price in a concise way helps consumers compare and evaluate the products more easily. “For example, if a store sets the price of a product as “35K”, everyone will understand it as 35,000 VND. The price list is not confusing with too many “0”s, so customers can recognize it right away. Buyers only need to glance at it to know the price, and will not feel guilty if they do not buy it,” Ms. Tam shared.
Shops and businesses are increasingly interested in posting prices.
However, the implementation of price listing for goods has not been implemented synchronously, especially in traditional markets in rural areas. According to many traders, the prices of goods, especially essential goods, are unstable. Many goods fluctuate daily and weekly, so it is difficult to list prices. As for consumers, most people still buy goods mainly based on the habit of "willing to buy, willing to sell" without checking the listed prices. In addition, customers in the market often have the habit of "bargaining", so the listing is almost ineffective.
Listing prices and selling at listed prices is public and transparent in the prices of goods and services, helping consumers easily compare, choose and protect their rights, while creating a healthy business environment. This is a civilized commercial activity that should be encouraged, especially in areas with bustling tourism activities with a large number of tourists coming to visit and shop.
