On September 25, the authorities of Son Ha district, Quang Ngai province surveyed the landslide situation at Mang Ka Muong mountain, Son Bao commune.
Upon inspection, the authorities discovered that Mang Ka Muong Mountain had many landslides. However, the most worrying was a crack 60m long and about 2m deep.

Mr. Phan Anh Quang, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Son Ha district, said the landslide on Mang Ka Muong mountain is very long and quite deep. If there is prolonged heavy rain, this crack is at risk of causing serious landslides.
If this location collapses, it will endanger a kindergarten, a cultural house and 4 houses with 20 people.
In addition, this landslide also risks blocking traffic to Mang Ka Muong village, Son Bao Primary School and Nuoc Trong Hydropower Plant.

According to Mr. Quang, the crack on Mang Ka Muong mountain is very dangerous. Therefore, the local government has evacuated the teachers and 27 kindergarten students to a safe teaching location.
For residential housing, local authorities continue to monitor weather developments and take measures to evacuate people when there is heavy rain.
According to the People's Committee of Son Ha district, in addition to the landslide at Mang Ka Muong mountain, there is another dangerous landslide in Lang Bo village, Di Lang town. This landslide threatens the homes of 30 households.
