Quang Ninh temporarily stops granting licenses for passenger ships and tourist ships to go to sea.

Due to the impact of storm No. 7, ports in the two special economic zones of Co To and Van Don and some wards and communes in Quang Ninh province were required to stop issuing departure orders for ships to go to sea to ensure the safety of residents and tourists.

According to a representative of Quang Ninh province, although storm No. 7 will not directly affect Quang Ninh province, it is still capable of causing strong winds and bad weather at sea in the eastern region of the province.

To ensure the safety of ships and boats operating in this sea area, the Provincial Civil Defense Command requests the Department of Construction, Quang Ninh Maritime Port Authority, Inland Waterways Port Authority, and People's Committees of coastal localities to temporarily stop granting licenses to unqualified watercraft to operate at sea; and temporarily stop granting licenses for sightseeing and accommodation activities at sea.

The suspension period starts from 11am on September 8. The suspension of licensing will end when there is the final bulletin on storm No. 7. The suspension area is in the sea areas of the following localities: Co To Special Zone, Van Don Special Zone; wards and communes of Tien Yen, Dam Ha, Hai Ha, Mong Cai (old).

At 4am this morning (September 8), the storm center was in the northwest sea of ​​the North East Sea with the strongest wind near the storm center at level 10-11 (89-117km/h), gusting to level 13. Thus, in just over a day, the storm has increased by nearly 3 levels.

It is forecasted that today, the storm will continue to move very fast, 20-25km per hour, and will make landfall in Guangdong province (China) this morning. By 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, the storm center will be deep inland in Guangdong province with a level 8 intensity, gusting to level 10.

Tonight, the storm will change direction to the west-northwest, continue to move very fast, about 20-25km/h and gradually weaken into a tropical depression, then a low pressure area. At 4am on September 9, the center of the low pressure area was over the mainland of Guangxi province (China) with an intensity of less than level 6.
