On December 27, Nguyen Tat Thanh Street is known as the biggest kumquat street in Hoi An City, gardeners are rushing to transport the last kumquat pots to customers.

On this side of the road is Cam Ha commune, on the other side is Thanh Ha ward, along both sides of the road are "huge" kumquat gardens.

All kinds, prices from a few hundred thousand per pot to huge kumquat pots costing millions, tens of millions, or tens of millions.

Traders from all over the place like Da Nang , Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh come here to buy kumquat in large quantities and then load them onto trucks to sell.

With only a few days left until Tet At Ty 2025, the joy is evident for garden owners because this is the kumquat season, which they think is a big win, many gardens have almost sold out a few days ago.

Mr. Pham Phuoc (40 years old, Thanh Ha ward, Hoi An) could not hide his excitement when his garden of more than 1,000 kumquat trees, large and small, was sold out four days ago, leaving only about 5 large kumquat trees for sale along the sidewalk of Nguyen Tat Thanh street. His garden has all kinds of trees with the lowest price of a few hundred thousand, from a few million to a few tens of millions.

According to him, compared to last year, this year the purchasing power is very large, selling quickly, his garden sells most of it wholesale, the rest is displayed on the street.

"The price is the same as every year, a little higher, but the wholesale market is very early and there are many customers, retail customers also buy a lot, sales are faster than every year, especially in Da Nang City, they bring trucks to buy a lot. By now, my garden is sold out, there are no more kumquats to sell" - Mr. Phuoc said.

This year, the entire Hoi An kumquat area brought to the market more than 70,000 pots, the market price of kumquat generally increased from 10-15% compared to previous years, most of the people sold wholesale to traders in the garden more than 70%, the rest was kept for retail to players along Nguyen Tat Thanh street.

According to many garden owners, this year's unusually cold weather and persistent rains have caused the yellow apricot blossoms in the Central region to not bloom in time, resulting in a "failure of the season", while the peach blossoms in the North have also been affected by storms and rains, causing a sharp drop in the amount of goods coming in, especially in big cities in the Central region such as Da Nang. Therefore, this is the year when Tet kumquats in Hoi An "take the throne", and many gardeners win big.
