Bustling in the fields at the beginning of the new year

Spring is still in full bloom on the roads, but farmers in all localities in the province have been eagerly going to the fields to work on the first production of the year. The dry and warm weather makes their work more favorable.

On the afternoon of the 4th day of Lunar New Year, in the pineapple capital of Tam Diep city, many farmers visited their fields for the first time in the year. Some fertilized, others leisurely bundled pineapples - a special technique to treat pineapple plants to produce fruit out of season. Meanwhile, in a field belonging to Khe Goi team, Quang Son commune, many pineapple growers were concentrating on harvesting fruit, traders' cars were waiting on the shore, each large basket of golden, fragrant pineapples was weighed and loaded onto the truck.

Currently, Tam Diep farmers can process pineapple trees to produce fruit all year round, contributing to reducing consumption pressure, increasing product prices, and improving income.

Mrs. Duong Thi Thuan could not hide her joy: With 5,000 square meters of this hilly land, my family planted 30,000 pineapple shoots. On the 26th of Tet, we sold more than 25 tons, and I sold a few more tons today. With an average selling price of 7,500 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, my family earned about 100 million VND.

On the afternoon of the third day of Tet, the green vegetable field in Yen Thang commune, Yen Mo district had many farmers concentrating on taking care of and harvesting vegetables.

Down in Yen Mo district, on the vegetable fields of Van Tra Cooperative, Yen Thang commune, many farmers are also focusing on taking care of and harvesting vegetables in time for the market.

The price of green vegetables remains high, so with just 1 sao of vegetable growing, farmers can earn tens of millions of dong per year.

The weather is dry, so while enjoying Tet, Mr. Dinh Van Ba ​​(Hamlet 2, Yen Thang, Yen Mo) had to take advantage of the time to go to the field to water the vegetables.

Ms. Le Thi Mai shared: During Tet, green vegetables are in high demand, prices have increased sharply, especially aromatic vegetables such as coriander, onions, and dill, up to 70-80 thousand VND/1 kg. Right from the morning of the 2nd day of Tet, our people went to the fields to harvest to serve consumers. Vegetables sell for a good price, so everyone is excited.

In rice growing areas, farmers are also taking full advantage of the time to speed up the planting progress to ensure the crop schedule. For areas that were planted before Tet, they are switching to fertilizing, caring, weeding, mud aeration, and pest control.

Although farming work is still full of hardship and worries, most farmers are happy and optimistic, believing that the new year of the Dragon will bring favorable weather and bountiful crops.
