At the coast of Duy Nghia commune, not far from the ancient town of Hoi An, the roads occasionally gather groups of fishermen taking advantage of the time to sift and spread out to dry the shrimp they collect from the sea.
Shrimp (some places call it con moi, sea shrimp) is not a very valuable seafood, but the appearance of shrimp near the shore in recent days has also brought income to people.
A fisherman in Tay Son Dong village (Duy Nghia commune, Da Nang city) said that the shrimp season usually takes place from the third to the fourth lunar month every year, but this year the shrimp appeared until the sixth lunar month.
Shrimp appear densely about 3-4 nautical miles from shore. Fishermen use motorized boats to probe and use fishing gear to scoop up shrimp.
In just a few hours, each basket boat can harvest hundreds of kilograms of fresh shrimp. After deducting expenses, each basket earns about 10 million VND/day, divided equally among the workers, each person receives 2-3 million, a source of "sea luck" at the end of the season.
