Officers and professional soldiers can be rewarded 8 times the basic salary.

According to a recent circular of the Ministry of National Defense , from 2025, officers and professional soldiers who are evaluated and classified as having excellently completed their tasks will receive a bonus equal to 8 times the basic salary.

That is one of the contents in Circular No. 95 of the Ministry of National Defense on instructions on implementing bonus regime for subjects receiving salaries from the state budget under the management of the Ministry of National Defense.

This Circular takes effect from December 25, 2024.

Excellent performance will be rewarded 8 times the base salary

The subjects of application are officers, professional soldiers, defense workers, defense officials and civil servants working in the army; people working in cryptography, people working in other cryptographic organizations at the Government Cipher Committee and related agencies, organizations and individuals who are entitled to receive annual and ad hoc bonuses.

The Circular states that the above subjects are entitled to bonus regime when the competent authority evaluates the results and classifies them as having completed the task or higher.

Bonus levels , subjects evaluated and classified specifically as follows:

During the year, if the subjects receive salary from the state budget for 7 months or more, the bonus level is equal to 1 time the above levels; if receiving salary from the state budget for less than 7 months, they will receive 1/2 of the above bonus level.

Additional bonus for outstanding work achievements

Regarding extraordinary bonuses, the bonus criteria clearly state that the beneficiaries of this regime are those who have extraordinary work achievements in unforeseen circumstances, occurring outside of the plan or outside of the regular tasks that the individual is assigned to undertake.

The level of extraordinary bonuses is implemented according to the extraordinary bonus regulations of the Ministry of National Defense.

In addition to the above-mentioned extraordinary bonus, the subject is considered for an additional bonus equal to one month's salary as the basis for social insurance payment calculated at the time of establishing extraordinary work achievements, including:

In case the subject has outstanding work achievements, the competent authority will consider promoting the military rank and raising the salary level before the term but already holds the highest military rank of the position or title held.

The group has kept the last salary grade in the type, current salary group or if they reserve exceptional work achievements but do not have enough working time left to be promoted, have salary increase before the term; Or the subject has other achievements that meet the conditions to be considered for promotion, salary increase before the term.

In case of performing the same task that qualifies for multiple bonus levels, only the highest bonus level will be awarded.

The extraordinary bonus regime does not apply to subjects who are rewarded according to the provisions of the Law on Emulation and Rewards in the following forms: Rewards for merit; rewards for emulation movements; rewards for the process of dedication; rewards for seniority; rewards for foreign affairs; rewards in the preliminary and final summaries of thematic campaigns and regular task performance.

The annual bonus regime prescribed in this Circular shall be implemented from July 1.
