On October 11, the Provincial Association of the Elderly held a conference to review the Association's work in the third quarter and deploy tasks for the fourth quarter of 2023.
In the third quarter, the province's work for the elderly achieved many results. The Elderly Association at all levels admitted 1,220 new members, bringing the total number of members to 141,082/152,640 elderly people in the whole province, reaching a rate of 92.42%.
The Provincial Elderly Association's representative board has directed all levels of the Association to maintain the activities of 103 intergenerational self-help clubs. Of which, 8/8 districts and cities have completed the establishment of 10 new intergenerational self-help clubs that were registered since the beginning of 2023...
Elderly care has been given attention and promoted. On the occasion of the "Month of Action for the Elderly in Vietnam" and the 32nd anniversary of the International Day of Older Persons, Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, organizations and the Association of the Elderly visited and presented gifts to more than 10,000 elderly people with a total amount of money and gifts worth over 1.4 billion VND. With the support of businesses and philanthropists, the Association has built 4 new charity houses with a total amount of 240 million VND.
In the third quarter, the Elderly Association at all levels focused on directing and successfully organizing the Elderly Singing Festival at all levels and won the second prize for the entire group when participating in the Regional Elderly Singing Festival in Ha Tinh , with 2/3 of the performances of the province's elderly participating achieving Excellent.
At the conference, delegates discussed the shortcomings and limitations in the implementation of tasks in the third quarter.
At the same time, propose solutions to implement the tasks of the fourth quarter such as: promoting the emulation movement "Old age - bright example" and effectively implementing 3 key tasks, 3 programs of the Association's work; joining hands to replicate and maintain the model of Intergenerational Self-Help Club for the period 2023 - 2025; coordinating the work of reviewing and making a list of elderly people reaching the age of longevity wishes and celebrations in 2024...
