The “Moving Forward with Vietnam” walking activity was launched by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2, and the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025). This is the first time a large-scale walking activity has been deployed simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities, with the participation of 3,321 communes, wards and administrative zones nationwide.

With the message “One billion steps into the new era - an action symbolizing solidarity and unity towards a green - clean - sustainable future”, the program has practically encouraged and motivated the movement of the whole population to practice sports following the example of Uncle Ho. At the same time, it affirmed the spirit of solidarity, unity, and shared aspiration to build a country with sustainable development.
