Exciting sports activities at the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week of Tua Chua district

After 3 days (October 16-18) of dramatic competition between athletes and enthusiastic cheering from people and tourists; the sports competitions and folk games have come to an end. The sports chosen to compete are traditional folk games, closely associated with daily life, typical of the ethnic groups in the Northwest, including: Tung con, tu lu, crossbow shooting, stick pushing, tug of war. At the matches, the athletes brought fiery and attractive competitions, attracting enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Participating in the shuttlecock throwing competition, Ms. Giang Thi Vang, Tua Thang village (Tua Thang commune) could not hide her joy after completing the competition. Ms. Vang said: Although I only threw one shuttlecock into the circle of the pole, I am very happy because this is the first time I have participated in the shuttlecock throwing game. This is the most attractive folk game of the Thai people, but after this time, I and the people of Mong Tua Thang village will practice playing it more.

In particular, at this year's Culture, Sports and Tourism Week, Tua Chua district organized folk games for tourists and locals to experience. In the areas where games of blindfolded duck catching, blindfolded drum beating, and climbing trees to pick fruit were held, crowds of people always gathered to watch and cheer. During the event, the experiential activities received positive responses, with hundreds of registrations from locals and tourists.

Closing the sports and folk games were the exciting tug-of-war performances of 10 teams from communes and towns. The hot weather did not dampen the excitement of the athletes and the cheers of the audience. At the end of the competitions, the tug-of-war team of Tua Thang commune won first prize, the team of Huoi So commune won second prize, and the third prize went to Sin Chai commune and Ta Sin Thanh commune.
