According to the summary report on the progress of the autumn-winter crop, up to now, the whole province has planted 143,240 ha/152,000 ha (reaching 94.2%). Of which, the planted rice area is 109,790 ha/112,000 ha (reaching 98% of the plan); the planted corn area is 11,500 ha/14,000 ha (reaching 82.1% of the plan); peanuts have been planted 890 ha/1,000 ha (reaching 89% of the plan); sweet potatoes have been planted 990 ha/1,100 ha (reaching 90% of the plan); vegetables and beans have been planted 10,570 ha/12,000 ha (reaching 88% of the plan), other crops are 9,500 ha/11,900 ha (reaching 79.8% of the plan).

To cope with the complicated developments of storm No. 3, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has requested the People's Committees of communes and wards to strictly implement the telegrams of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense; and at the same time, focus on directing the production of the autumn-spring crop.

Localities proactively drain buffer water on the main river system and intra-field canals, mobilize forces to clear the flow on drainage canals, check and raise the banks of areas, plots, and drainage canals to ensure quick drainage for areas at risk of flooding.

People of Quang Phu Ward harvest vegetables.

According to the plan, after the storm, it is necessary to quickly drain the surface water of the fields, clean the fields, spray foliar fertilizers, biological products... to help the plants recover. At the same time, carry out replanting to ensure planting density.

For industrial crops and perennial fruit trees, the agricultural sector and localities direct and guide producers to focus on harvesting quickly and neatly. After storms, floods and inundation, it is necessary to urgently drain water and implement technical care measures to restore the orchard. At the same time, proactively source seeds to replant or replant damaged areas.

Along with that, assign technical staff to stay close to the base, closely monitor the development of storms and the situation of pests and diseases to have proactive measures to promptly respond and quickly handle the negative effects of weather and pests.
