In recent years, facing the complicated geological situation, the mining area at level -100 is entering the final stage, Duong Huy Coal Company has been both producing and implementing mine expansion works down to level -250. To solve these difficulties, the most important strategy identified by Duong Huy Coal is mechanization, automation, computerization, and moving towards digitalization of all production and management areas.
The company has also gradually implemented synchronous mechanization to clear, connect and complete the transportation system in the mine and on the ground. Specifically, it regularly repairs and renovates the entire main cross-seam mine line, platform level -100, level +38 and many other mine lines to ensure large cross-sections; invests in a series of modern transportation equipment such as pneumatic rails, diesel rails, curved conveyors, hydraulic trolley systems in the form of chains, cables... to improve transportation capacity, meet the requirements of high output throughput, help reduce human resources, and significantly increase productivity.
In tunneling, the unit maintains 2 semi-mechanized tunneling mirrors using drills and excavators; puts the EBH-45 tunneling equipment complex into operation; actively applies other modern technologies such as hydraulic and pneumatic anchor drilling machines, anchor drilling robots, etc. to dig tunnels in permitted geological conditions. In underground coal mining, the Company simultaneously operates 11 longwalls applying advanced support technology, including 2 medium and light synchronous mechanized longwall complexes, along with soft truss systems, chain racks, and partition frames; maintains and expands the camera network, mine gas monitoring equipment, coal quality monitoring, and timekeeping and salary sharing software to help make income transparent.
Recently, in order to meet the requirements of the mechanization and automation strategy in production, 2 tunneling workshops have been converted into production models. Tunneling Workshop 1 has been converted into a synchronous mechanized tunneling workshop, managing and operating synchronous mechanized equipment in tunneling, such as Combai EBH-45 tunneling machine, other synchronous mechanized tunneling machines. Tunneling Workshop 2 has been converted into a semi-mechanized tunneling workshop, in charge of tunneling with semi-mechanized equipment such as drilling vehicles, excavators, etc. This is a new breakthrough in the corporate governance of Duong Huy Coal, both synchronizing equipment management, in line with the requirements of streamlining the production equipment system, and improving the sustainable and long-term skills of employees and improving the efficiency of tunneling work, meeting the Company's deep requirements in the coming time.
Along with that, the Company regularly organizes short-term training courses on career conversion and technology transfer when the structure of the longwall supports and the technology of tunneling change; courses on management, use, repair and operation of mining equipment; training and fostering of professional skills in electromechanics, linking from primary mining to intermediate mining; training courses for production command staff at construction site and workshop levels... Thereby, ensuring high-quality human resources to serve the goal of mechanization and sustainable development for the unit in the following years.
Recently, the Company organized a professional examination and test for the economic staff of the entire company. 30 employees from the workshops went through 2 test sections including multiple choice and direct questions from the Board of Judges, who are comrades in the Board of Directors and heads of specialized departments. The test content focused on key areas such as cost management, labor policies, application of Esoft software in human resource management, equipment and materials management, and updating and implementing the Company's directive documents...
According to Mr. Cao Viet Phuong, Acting Director of the Company, investing in the quality of human resources, especially those working in the economic work of the workshops, is not only an internal requirement but also an important condition to increase the strength of corporate governance. This is not just a simple competency test, but also the basis for shaping the training program, fostering professional skills, serving the information technology strategy towards comprehensive digitalization of production, aiming at the goal of sustainable development of the Company in the era of industry 4.0.
With continuous efforts, Duong Huy Coal has successfully completed its tasks in the first 6 months of 2025. Most of the technical and economic indicators have exceeded the set plan. The company maintains the goal of safety in production, taking good care of the lives of workers with an average income of nearly 24 million VND/person/month.
