Within the framework of the Lifelong Learning Week 2024 taking place across the country, on the morning of October 7, Son La Global Learning City organized a workshop on the Role of Preschool Education in Lifelong Learning.

Enrolled in UNESCO's "Global Network of Learning Cities", Son La has had many positive and meaningful activities within the framework of Lifelong Learning Week 2024.
On the morning of October 7, Son La city solemnly organized the Workshop on the Role of Preschool Education in Lifelong Learning with the participation and direction of representatives of Son La city's leaders; representatives of Son La city's Department of Education and more than 230 education managers, principals, vice principals and preschool teachers of all preschools in the city.
The event was attended by education expert Tong Lien Anh, with many years of experience in the field of lifelong learning.

In his opening speech, Mr. Tran Cong Chinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La City, especially emphasized the role of preschool education in lifelong learning. He affirmed the city's leaders' attention and investment in preschool education, especially activities promoting cooperation and integration with international education: "With the city's vision of a modern and advanced education system, especially in the context of Son La becoming a global learning city listed in the UNESCO's "Global Learning Cities Network", we are committed to continuing to invest heavily in preschool education, constantly improving the quality of teaching and learning, and at the same time creating the best conditions for children to develop comprehensively. The city government will closely coordinate with agencies, organizations, families and schools to build the best educational environment, helping children have a solid foundation for the future."
The workshop took place in a vibrant atmosphere and opened up many meaningful exchanges and new perspectives with the sharing and guidance of education expert Tong Lien Anh.

Focusing on the role of early childhood education in lifelong learning, the conference was lively from the very beginning with exchanges between speakers and attendees.
The discussions revolved around the issue of the birth of the concept of "lifelong learning", as well as the necessity of lifelong learning in the context of the world entering the current industrial era 4.0.

Ms. Tong Lien Anh introduced the characteristics of Finnish preschool education with specific examples, helping teachers participating in the workshop gain new perspectives, as Son La is a locality with natural advantages as well as a similar and favorable educational environment to apply the characteristics of Finnish education.

Delegates learned about Laulau Learning, an educational method that fully embodies the characteristics of Finnish education, and is being successfully applied in preschool, primary and special education in Finland, the UK, Estonia, Singapore and many other countries around the world.
In particular, from the capital Helsinki, Finland, Ms. Minna Lappalainen, founder and Executive Director of Laulau Finland, although unable to be present in person, sent warm greetings to the teachers of Son La through online connection.
Ms. Minna Lappalainen also shared her experiences in developing and applying the Laulau-based art-based education method in teaching practice. She also expressed her happiness that in the near future, Laulau Learning will be deployed in a number of kindergartens in Son La city, through a special cooperation and support package between Laulau Learning Vietnam and Son La city.
