The Government Inspectorate has just reported on the summary of the patriotic emulation movement and reward work for 5 years (2021-2025), directions and tasks for the 2026-2030 period.
The Government Inspectorate's report emphasized that the emulation movement has synchronously implemented policies and laws on preventing and combating corruption and negativity, achieving remarkable results.
Over the past 5 years, the Inspection sector has detected an increase of 62.3% in economic violations, recommendations for handling and recovering to the budget increased by 86.6%, transferred to investigation agencies increased by 258.8% in the number of cases and increased by 80.6% in the number of subjects compared to the previous term.
The Government Inspectorate alone has transferred 115 cases to the investigation agency, an increase of 180.5% compared to the previous term. All cases with signs of crime are transferred to the investigation agency by the Government Inspectorate during the inspection process, before the inspection conclusion is issued.
Notably, when the Central Steering Committee placed the task of preventing and combating waste on par with preventing and combating corruption and negativity, the Government Inspectorate was assigned to inspect two projects with signs of waste: Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Facility 2 (in the former Ha Nam province).
In just 36 days, the Government Inspectorate has conducted an inspection, determined the amount of waste of over 1,200 billion VND and related violations, and transferred them to the investigation agency for handling.
Implementing the direction of the Central Steering Committee, the Government, and the Prime Minister, the Government Inspectorate chaired and directed the entire sector to conduct two large-scale inspections nationwide.
The first topic is to inspect projects with difficulties and problems so that competent authorities can consider, resolve, and remove backlogs and long-standing projects.
The second topic is inspection and prevention of waste in the management and use of housing and land facilities managed by state agencies, organizations and enterprises.
These topics are being urgently implemented to ensure progress, quality and compliance with legal procedures and regulations, avoiding overlap and affecting the operations of localities, agencies, units and enterprises subject to inspection.
In addition to the results achieved, the Government Inspectorate has frankly pointed out the shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome. In particular, the implementation of emulation movements by some agencies and units is still formalistic, and the content and criteria of emulation are still inadequate.
Inspection and supervision of emulation movements are still limited, emulation measures have not really been innovated, so the spread of emulation movements is not widespread.
