Fate with Physics

Born and raised in Le Thuy district (old) - famous for its tradition of studiousness, teacher Truong Dinh Hung inherited the traditional qualities of his hometown. In particular, the student soon became interested in Physics since his junior high school years when he joined the Physics gifted team of Le Thuy district.

Teacher Truong Dinh Hung shared: "Natural phenomena from a physical perspective are really fascinating and the beauty of physics problems - where logical thinking and practicality blend - has truly conquered me throughout my high school years...".

The dream of becoming a Physics teacher became a reality when Truong Dinh Hung passed the Physics Pedagogy exam at Hue University of Education in 2002. During his time studying here, with the enthusiastic and dedicated guidance and teaching of teachers, along with a passionate and serious learning spirit, Truong Dinh Hung had brilliant years of youth at the university. First prize in the "Pedagogical Profession" contest - Hue University of Education in 2004, third prize in the National Physics Olympiad for Students in 2005 in Hanoi ... are the "sweet fruits" of the efforts of this student who is passionate about studying and researching.

In 2006, after graduating from university with honors, Truong Dinh Hung was recruited by the Department of Education and Training and assigned to work at Quang Binh Specialized High School (now Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School). To continue to improve his professional skills, in 2007, teacher Truong Dinh Hung returned to Hue University of Education to continue his graduate studies. After graduating with honors as valedictorian of his master's degree in Physics teaching methods and being recommended to continue his research, Truong Dinh Hung still decided to return to work at Vo Nguyen Giap Specialized High School.

Teaching at a leading school in the province in terms of quality education, teacher Truong Dinh Hung has had the opportunity to develop and promote his abilities and strengths. Along with that, he has received encouragement and support from teachers in the school to equip himself with valuable lessons and experiences and become more and more confident in his professional expertise as well as teaching methods. In 2012, the teacher won first prize in the provincial competition for excellent Physics teachers at high schools.

Through the discussion, Principal of Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thi Hai Yen, said that in any field, Mr. Truong Dinh Hung always tries to excellently complete the assigned tasks.

The school's Board of Directors has entrusted him with many important tasks: Head of the Physics class, Deputy Head of the Physics - Technology Group (2011-2024), Head of the Physics - Technology Group (from 2024 to present), Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union Executive Committee (term 2014-2017), Secretary of the School Youth Union Executive Committee (term 2017-2021), Party Committee member, Secretary of Party Cell 1 (from 2015 to present). The results and achievements of the Physics department, the School Youth Union and Party Cell 1 during this time all have significant contributions from teacher Truong Dinh Hung.

" Pass on" passion and dedication to students

Having been continuously participating in the national excellent student training council since 2008 until now, from a young and potential factor to now being one of the solid pillars of the professional group, Mr. Truong Dinh Hung and the teachers in the Physics Group have directly trained dozens of generations, hundreds of students to compete in the national excellent student competition.

“I always prioritize the training of excellent students as the school's core and key task, dedicating a lot of time and effort. In 2022, after completing the task of Secretary of the School Youth Union Executive Committee, I was assigned to be the homeroom teacher of the Physics specialized class for the 2022-2025 term. I developed a comprehensive educational plan for the course, focusing on discovering and training excellent Physics students...”, teacher Truong Dinh Hung shared.

With good professional capacity and extensive experience, the teacher discovered and trained the students early from the beginning of grade 10 and selected a team for the provincial excellent student competition beyond grade 11. In the 2023-2024 school year, the 11th grade Physics class had 5/9 students who were official members of the national excellent student team; the team had 6 students winning national prizes with 2 third prizes and 4 consolation prizes.

Continuing the success, in the 2024-2025 school year, the teacher was assigned to be the head of the national Physics team and brought home the highest results ever with 8 prizes, including: 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 2 consolation prizes. Notably, 2 students were selected to participate in the regional and international Olympic team in 2025. The 2022-2025 class of students headed by the teacher won 10 national prizes, including the first prize, a proud achievement...

“Thank you for everything you have silently given me, for your dedication, patience and companionship throughout the past journey. Not only did you teach me knowledge, you also taught me how to study, how to train myself and, more importantly, the steadfastness to not give up in the face of difficulties... Those things, I will probably never forget for the rest of my life...”, these are the special words of gratitude from Nguyen Thai Son (a 12th grade student specializing in Physics, Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, who won first prize in Physics in the National Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year) to his homeroom teacher Truong Dinh Hung.

At Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, teacher Truong Dinh Hung has always been constantly self-studying, improving, striving to become an exemplary and pioneering teacher. In recognition of these contributions, the teacher has been awarded many certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for his achievements in training excellent national students (5 certificates of merit), and the Director of the Department of Education and Training has awarded him the title of grassroots emulation fighter (6 times, most recently in the 2023-2024 school year). The milestones that the teacher has achieved are not only successes in his career of educating people, but also the foundation and motivation for him to continue to strive and better fulfill his mission of educating people.

When asked about the secret to his success, teacher Truong Dinh Hung, with a bright smile, modestly shared: “Because I fell in love with Physics, it is a lifelong passion. To achieve the results I have today, I have received the active support of the school's Board of Directors, colleagues, and the companionship of my family, parents and students. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you...”.
