Another Boeing whistleblower fired

According to CNN, in October 2023, Mr. Cuevas filed a complaint with Boeing and presented that Spirit changed the manufacturing and assembly specifications related to drilling holes in the forward pressure bulkhead stabilizer of the 787 aircraft, without Boeing's permission. According to him, that could compromise the aircraft's power and air pressure. Mr. Cuevas was fired in March of this year after reporting the incident.

In a statement issued on June 26, Boeing said Mr. Cuevas' concerns were thoroughly investigated, and technical analysis determined that the issues raised did not pose a safety concern and have been resolved. Boeing added that it does not participate in decisions related to contract employees.

"We strongly encourage anyone with a safety concern to report it and we thoroughly investigate everything," the FAA said. The FAA has received a total of 126 reports against Boeing this year and 11 last year.
