Follow first graders to attend the special opening ceremony

On the morning of September 5, Giap Hai Phong (Phuc Loi, Hanoi) and his parents woke up early, preparing to attend the first opening ceremony at primary school.

At 6 o'clock, although still not awake, Giap Hai Phong woke up to prepare to go to the new school year opening ceremony.

Preparing school supplies for her child once again, Ms. Be Ngoc Thanh Truc (Phuc Loi, Hanoi ) felt excited and somewhat worried, as if she were a student going to the opening ceremony.

Entering first grade is an important turning point, Ms. Thuy Truc asked for leave from work to accompany her child in the Opening Ceremony of the new school year. She shared: "This is the first time my child has entered first grade, so I am a bit worried. Seeing Phong in his uniform and carrying a new backpack on his shoulder to school, he looks more mature. As a mother, I feel very emotional."

Hai Phong said: "I feel a bit sleepy when I wake up early, but today is the first day of school so I want to go a little earlier. Going to first grade, I get to study in a new school, which is bigger than kindergarten so I'm very excited."

September 5th is the “national day for children to go to school”. To create excitement for their child to start the new school year, like many other parents, Phong’s parents also arranged their work to have a meaningful opening day with their child.

"Although my child directly participated in the special opening ceremony, I was more nervous and worried than my child. Going from kindergarten to primary school is a big turning point, my child will have to be more independent. The new school year has begun, I hope my child will integrate well into the new environment and try to study and practice well" - Ms. Truc said.

This morning, Mr. Giap Van Tho also took his child to the opening ceremony and cheered him up before the opening ceremony.

"The Opening Ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year is special because this is an event that marks a historic milestone in the education sector. And especially for my family, when my son enters a new phase in his learning journey," Mr. Tho shared.

At exactly 8:00 a.m., the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Education sector's tradition and the opening of the 2025-2026 school year took place and was broadcast live on VTV1 (Vietnam Television), connecting online all educational and training institutions nationwide with the participation of about 1.6 million teachers and more than 26 million students nationwide.

All educational institutions, together with the whole country, attended and witnessed the celebration and opening ceremony, listened to the instructions and congratulations for the new school year from Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam , and listened to the sacred sound of the opening drum in an excited and proud atmosphere.
